Sorry for the no-post Monday, folks. My lovely daughter ended up in Emergency in the city where she attends University and I had to dash out there (three snowy hours cross-province!) to check on her. I ended up staying overnight to be sure she'd be okay (and she will, thank you - one of those "women's issues" some of us face) then race back in time to book the boss' ORs for this week. Phew!!!! Enough stress. On the other hand, I reminded myself that a) my daughter WANTED her mommy (yay! - that'll carry me for awhile!), b) she is going to be just fine and c) she does go to school in a particularly lovely area of the country.
As a result, although I plan to use it more and vastly improve on this quickie version, I did pass some of the time between tests playing with Ixorus, as per Laura's Challenge of the Week (http://www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com/). I'm not very pleased with this particular piece, I think you can see how scattered my mind was and how poorly I selected the patterns to tangle - also how dark the overall piece became - but I present for your critique "Monday Night In The Emergency Department".
Happy Tuesday!
It's beautiful! Glad your daughter (and you) are doing ok now.
ReplyDeleteSorry your not pleased with this piece, I think it's great. Like the way the curve lines flow into each other. Glad your daughters on the mend and needs her mommy!
ReplyDeleteWhispering ~ Amazing ~ what you can do ~ under stress ~ Don't get down on yourself ~ everything worked out perfectly ~ including this challenge
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! It looks like a comfy couch pillow. LOL I love it.
ReplyDeleteOOps. I posted the other comment before I read your post. I hope your daughter will feel better real soon.
ReplyDeleteWonderful texturing....it looks like drapery!
ReplyDeleteI rather like your contribution. I love all of the tangles you chose. Did you try turning the tangle, sometimes I don't like them one way and when I make a turn it all becomes better!
ReplyDeleteGlad your daughter is on the mend!
You have created a snuggly, soft, comfort quilt zentangle, just perfect for your daughter.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY love this piece! Not too dark, I think the contrast is perfect! Shows your confidence and comfort with the art form. Maria
ReplyDeleteheavenly gorgeous ! just don't stop!
ReplyDeleteit's really beautiful! glad everyone is okay - and i love the title of your tile, i often tell my Zentangle students that you can use it as a form of journaling. Case in point!
ReplyDeleteps - i think it's awesome!
I love this tile!
ReplyDeleteAnd as Laura already mentioned: Drawing ZT has a lot of journaling. I often look at my just finished tile, asking it 'who are you? what are you mirroring to me? what did you find deep within me / within my soul that you bring to light just in this very moment? what should I be aware of?'
Ok, it´s a bit like reading the cards – well, that´s what I am too, a cardreader ;-) .
I think this is really beautiful! The tangles you used all blend so well together. Glad to hear that all turned out well.
ReplyDeleteI rather like this and don't find it dark at all.
ReplyDeleteIt's fabulous!! And a great creation for a stressful night of waiting!
ReplyDeleteI think your tangle is beautiful! When the stress of the week leaves, I bet you will see it too. Glad your daughter is ok, and you too! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your daughter is OK and I think you've done an admirable job, the tangled tile is lovely!
ReplyDeleteGlad your daughter is feeling better and I love this piece. Sometimes our "Mama Heart" needs to express itself...even if its jumbled and not quite as we think it should be. How wonderful you were able to capture time to do this during such a stressful period.
ReplyDeleteThank you too for visiting my blog!
So glad all is well. You tile is lovely. I enjoy your work it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of a better thing to do while spending all that time at the hospital. I did that for four weeks a couple of years ago... would've been great to know about tangles way back then. Hmm... thinking about taking my tangles and a tangle buddy to the local hospital kid's ward... that could be fun for the kids. =) [Yet another idea for the ideas basket - thank you! And I'm so pleased your daughter's okay!]
ReplyDeleteI quite like this piece. The very square, contained top half works nicely against the rounded, free-floating bottom.
